John Reilly isn’t just an expert on real estate, he wrote the book on it… literally! He also worked alongside Saul Klein and Mike Barnett to develop first iteration of the National Association of REALTORS® e-Pro certification. When he’s not busy authoring real estate tomes and keeping up with the latest real estate laws, John works in our San Diego office as the director of RealTown, our sister site that is one of the oldest and most respected communities in the real estate industry.
We asked John to answer a few questions about himself. Here’s what he had to say:
What is your favorite type of music?
Rock n’ roll – especially from the 50s & 60s
What is your favorite book of all time and why?
The Language of Real Estate …of course 😉 the royalties helped to put my kids through school

A professional hockey player in the same league as Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby
Do you speak any other languages, and which ones?
Grandpa-speak: Hey, which one of you boys made that mess? It’s usually my 5th grandson whose name seems to be “Not-Me”
What was your last Do It Yourself project?
Prepared a photo collage for our 35th wedding anniversary
What is something about you that few people know?
I can wiggle my ears
