Valentine’s Day Marketing Tips for Real Estate Agents
Agents, Valentine’s Day is coming up! Have you made any special plans yet?
We’re not referring to plans involving your sweetheart (although you should probably go ahead and make a reservation immediately). In this case we’re asking about Valentine’s Day marketing plans for your real estate business.
Valentine’s Day is the perfect time of year to express your love and gratitude to the people who make your workday great – your clients, coworkers and business colleagues. Remind them how much they mean to you, and they’ll be reminded of what a great agent you are.
We were inspired by this list of 5 ways to show the love that we found on Inman around this time last year. Author Katie Lance came up with some great ways to show client appreciation, included providing bubbly for buyers and delivering flowers to the neighbors.
But why not add to the list? No matter your budget or busy schedule, there are plenty of ways to do a little real estate marketing before the 14th. Here are our top 3 picks:
Create custom conversation hearts
Create your own conversation hearts to share with clients or deliver to your farm area (paired with your business card, of course). A number of websites, like this one, will print anything you want on this classic Valentine’s Day candy for a reasonable price… and there’s still time for delivery if you act soon.
What messages would you choose for this sugar-sweet treat? “Love UR home” and “Location, location, location” are two good ones. Your slogan and phone number are other smart options.
Organize a dream date contest
Host a contest in your office or on social media (or both) where one lucky winner wins a gift card and dinner reservations at a local restaurant. This can be the start of a beneficial referral partnership between you and the restaurant. Not to mention the next time the winner (or someone in his/her social circle) needs the services of a real estate agent, he/she is more likely to think of you.
One easy way to organize a contest on Facebook is to create a post on your business page and ask for a comment or like on the post to be entered into the contest. This stimulates engagement with your Facebook page. You can even promote your post within Facebook and cross promote it on your other social media channels to reach a wider audience. Just be sure to include information about how and when you will pick a winner… and then don’t forget to announce who it is!
Send cheesy cards
Remember the silly Valentine’s Day cards of your grade school days? Recreate the fun and stir up a little nostalgia by sending some of your own this year. You can buy a stack of Valentine’s Day cards and mail them out or create your own eCard to mail to current and past clients.
Stuck on what to write? Here are 30 ‘punny’ Valentine’s greetings for the people who make your life sweet. We obviously tried to create our own for the title of this blog post… we’ll leave it up to you to decide whether it works or not.
