Can you believe the year is almost over? 2013 was a big year for the team here at Point2. We celebrated Bacon Appreciation Day and International Pie Day, hung out with our kids and, oh yeah, we worked really hard, too!
At first, we didn’t think we could top last year, but a quick peek at our blog history reveals that this year has been our busiest yet. We created our first Facebook app, developed an SEO guide for our members and so much more. In case you missed any updates, here’s a list of 2013’s greatest hits:
1. Theme Preview
In January, we introduced Theme Preview – a function in the Point2 Agent Online Office that allows users to “try on” a new theme without commitment. Now you can try out any website theme in any color palette without affecting your existing site and its content. Previewing is also available for menus. Switch up the order of your drop down menus and see what the new arrangement will look like on your site without interfering with your current layout.
2. More Mobile-Friendly Themes
Last year we had 6 mobile-friendly agent website themes. Now we have over 70, plus an additional 26 mobile-friendly property website themes. What a difference a year makes! If you’re thinking about switching to a new theme but have questions, Customer Care can help.
3. Point2 Agent SEO Guide
As we mentioned above, in 2013 we created an SEO guide designed specifically to help Point2 Agent members maximize their website traffic with easy, step-by-step instructions. If you haven’t downloaded your copy yet, you can access the Point2 Agent SEO Guide anytime by clicking on the Website tab at the top of your Online Office. Then click on “Resources” in the Related Links box on the right side of the page.
4. Mobile-Friendly Virtual Tours
On July 1st, virtual tours became mobile-friendly, making them accessible to the millions of consumers who browse for homes on their smartphones and tablets.
5. MLS Public Websites
We made the news this summer when we introduced our real estate search portals that are customized for MLSs and associations. Our public-facing portals house the most accurate listing information derived directly from MLS data, all in one easy-to-use, mobile-friendly place. 6. Mobile Headers
Mobile-friendly Point2 Agent themes have been updated to support a header image in the mobile view. This feature will be automatically enabled for new users. To activate mobile header images if you’re an existing user, log in to the Online Office, go to Edit Website and go to the ‘Graphics’ page to select and edit an image
7. Header Slideshows
If your theme has a splash page enabled you can now add a slideshow of photos in the header graphic section of your Agent Site to create a visually-interesting rotating display. To activate the slideshow, two or more photos will need to be uploaded. Follow these steps to add a slideshow to your Point2 Agent site.
8. Campaign Activity Module
We added a new widget that will help you better manage your drip email campaigns to assist you in optimizing your email marketing efforts. This widget now appears on the home page of your Point2 Agent account so you can view and edit scheduled drip email campaign activities.
9. HTML for Drip Campaigns
You asked, we heard you! Point2 Agent Professional and Elite users can now create HTML email campaigns. Bring your campaigns to life using HTML to add pictures, links, formatting and more. If you need help with this, don’t hesitate to contact Customer Care.
10. Facebook Listings App
Our very first Facebook app enables you to share your listings on your Facebook business page. Just connect your Point2 Agent account with your Facebook account (instructions here) and voila!
11. Point2 Data Integration
Point2 Data was integrated into the Point2 Agent Online Office in October, giving members easy access to property data reports about your listings… or any other piece of property! Read more about this update here.
12. Rewards Program
We also created the Point2 Agent Rewards Program in 2013to reward people for recommending Point2 Agent to their colleagues and friends. See how it works then get started right from your Online Office.
13. Google Authorship
Adding Google Authorship to your Point2 Agent website can greatly enhance your search visibility by associating your listings with a real person. If people search for one of your listings in the search engines, the results will be enhanced with your picture. If you haven’t implemented Google Authorship yet, follow these steps now.
14. Social Sharing Sidebar
The floating social media sharing side bar is another new addition to Point2 Agent websites that is designed to keep pace with today’s rapidly changing real estate technology marketplace. When activated, this feature adds a floating sidebar to every page of your Point2 Agent site. This sidebar allows site visitors to share information from your website with their network on the social platform of their choice with just the click of a button.
15. Two Dozen Webinars
To cap it all off, our wonderful education team hosted two dozen webinars this year on subjects ranging from video marketing to real estate business planning. To catch a recording of any webinar you missed, click here.
