This month’s Point2 Agent Success Story comes to us from Marta Andre, an agent in Niagara Falls, Ontario who reached out to talk to us about the success of her Featured Ads on Point2 Homes.

Her quote inspired us to ask for more details about her experience with Point2 Agent, and here is what she had to say.
When, where and why did you get started in real estate?
I was looking for a career change and based on my background I felt real estate would be the perfect match. I started in the Niagara region in May 2008.
What are your primary challenges in your market?
The primary challenge in my market is educating people on the value of our profession. I take great pride in keeping up with all that is current in the ever-changing real estate market. It is a full time job, and there are many pitfalls that can happen in a real estate transaction. There is no substitute for the experience, skills and knowledge of a real estate agent.
I try to convey all that is happening in any given transaction. I involve my client in the process every step of the way, and in the end it can be a very gratifying experience. Helping people with the process is what we do, and today’s market is moving very quickly. There is not a day goes by that I don’t learn something new or experience something that will make me a better agent.
When did you start using Point2 Agent and what made you choose us?
I started using Point2 Agent as part of my benefits when working with my past brokerage. The extra exposure was welcome and that’s how I became involved initially with the website. Now that I am at Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Niagara Premiere, I still use Point2 Agent.
What were/are your primary goals for your website? Where have you seen success?
My primary goal was to try more marketing options and see if I could send more traffic to my listings. I was astonished by the results. I featured my listings on Point2 Homes and the amount of people viewing the listings increased dramatically. I noticed that prospects now come from a much larger geographic area. This has resulted in many sales of local listings to buyers from far outside of my region. This to me is the biggest asset of the exposure.
My site is always at the top of a Google search in our region and that also greatly increases the traffic. I like that I can measure the exposure and, most of all, I like when I get a notification from a new prospect asking for my help or to view one of my featured listings.
Do you get leads from your Point2 Agent site or syndicated listings? Do you have a story to share?
I constantly receive new leads from Point2 syndicated sites such as Kijiji, The Housing Block and Point2 Homes. I do syndicate my listings as well posting them on my website. The only thing better than exposure is more exposure.
To date, I have not used a better marketing dollar than Point2 Agent. I usually get 2-3 leads a week. I had a phone call one morning, when I answered the guy on the other end just said: I want to sell my house. At first I thought it was a prank call, but found out really quickly that it wasn’t. He said he found my Point2 site online. I met him that afternoon and signed a contract to sell his house. I then featured his listing on Point2, got multiple offers on it, and am now working with many buyer leads from that ad. The seller is now on the market to buy another place – so just one ad resulted in multiple transactions!
What is your favorite Point2 Agent feature? What feature would you like to see improved or added?
I like that I can point a number of different domains to my site, but my favorite feature is that Point2 keeps a record of each visit, and a detailed log of each potential client. I really like that Point2 constantly is at the top of the Google search, which keeps its exposure to the max.
How have you seen technology impact your business in recent years?
Agents that are not fully immersed in technology are not going to be able to achieve their full potential. It is an information world, and our clients are more informed than ever. As a great agent you have to be on top of the information. Being able to respond to prospect’s requests in real time, every time with the help of great new gadgets is essential. I am truly switched on 24/7. I enjoy getting Point2 information requests when I wake up from someone who was viewing my property at 2 AM. I think quick follow up is the key to success. Clients want information when they want it and you have to be organized to do a quick follow up.
Do you have any tips for real estate agents who are just starting out?
My tip to new agents is this: once you have your license it is just the beginning. I remember not knowing where to start. I worked as an assistant to a couple of great agents who taught me a lot about getting the job done. I became involved in a lot of transactions and did a lot of ground work. I did not worry about my income as much as becoming the best agent I could be, and there is no substitution for experience. Many agents fail because they do not get the experience. Work on a great team and learn through experience.
