The Faces of Point2 – Mark Hollman

Mark HollmanTitle: Quality Assurance Product Lead
Started at Point2: September 2004

Mark’s day looks like this: organizing product builds and leading quality assurance testing with the odd Tim Horton’s run squeezed in whenever he has a few minutes to spare.

When he’s not busy being all Canadian and playing “Roll Up the Rim”, Mark loves spending time with his family.

We asked Mark to answer a few questions about himself. Here’s what he had to say:

What is your favorite type of music?
80’s Metal and Punk. Especially when I can find Punk Bands doing remakes of 80’s Metal 😛

What is your favorite book of all time and why?
The Art of War – Sun Tzu. Although written as a military text, the whole book holds meaning for every aspect of ones life.

If you have an hour of free time to spare, what do you do with it?
If I have some spare time I like to spend time with my family.

What kinds of food do you like?

I enjoy pretty much any type of food, but my favorite is anything BBQ’d. I think I like it for the fact that I get to BBQ and hang outside.

What is the most interesting place you’ve ever traveled?

Was probably Dover Castle in the UK. Was cool to see the white cliffs and get a chance to tour the WWII bunkers where Winston Churchhill and his generals made decisions on the war. Plus it holds special meaning for me because it was up on one of the castle turrets where I proposed to my wife.

What do you like best about your job?

Probably the interaction between all the different departments in the company. Some jobs you just don’t get a chance to meet and get to know everyone and that’s a shame.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
I’ll let you know when that happens 😛

What was your last Do It Yourself project?

Last big Do it Yourself Project was rebuilding a basement from scratch. Was a lot of fun.

What athlete or sports figure do you most admire?

If they wear or have worn an Oilers Jersey then I admire them.

What online sites do you visit?

I’m a huge sports fan so the majority of the sites I go to are sports related (TSN, Sportsnet, NHL, NFL, CFL, etc)
