This high-heel wearing, badminton playing, kitchen renovating superwoman is also Mama to one adorable little girl.
Oh, and her super powers are evident at Point2 as well. Linda was hired almost 13 years ago to join our marketing team and is now leading the charge and directing our sales, syndication and MLS and association services efforts.
We asked Linda to answer a few questions about herself. Here’s what she had to say:
What is your favorite type of music?
I’m open to almost all genres of music but I like to listen to a lot downtempo music (Thievery Corporation, Frank Ocean). Lately I’ve been leaning towards a lot of Canadian content through CBC3, lots of great emerging (and existing) artists that I had never heard of…thanks Sirius Radio
If you have an hour of free time to spare, what do you do with it?
Read as many cooking publications as possible…or actually cook.
What kinds of food do you like?
I believe I must have been Italian in another life as I’ve always had a preference (cooking and dining) for Italian cuisine.
What is the most interesting place you’ve ever traveled?
I’m lucky to have a very ‘international’ family so I would say that at the top of my list are Taiwan and South Africa. We were in South Africa during the 2010 World Cup and it is was an experience that I will never forget.
If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or historical, who would it be?
My grandparents. I have very few memories of any of my grandparents (those that were still alive when I was born) and it would be an honor if I could spend even a few hours with them to learn more about my family, my culture, and how they came to raise some pretty great kids.
Do you speak any other languages, and which ones?
I can speak French and a barely acceptable level of Taiwanese.
If you could own one piece of famous art, sculpture, memorabilia or historic artifact, what would the item be?
During my last trip to Banff (Alberta) I came across a piece at the Canada House Gallery that is now at the top of my list. It is a painting by contemporary wildlife painter Les Thomas. It’s a fairly large piece, so I’m hoping it’s still for sale when we decide to move into a bigger property.
What was your last Do It Yourself project?
Well, we are on kitchen renovation number 3, so I just spent my past weekend putting together cabinets, doors, shelves, etc.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Well, at this point I would suspect that I could put together a pretty well designed kitchen (we have one more kitchen renovation after our current one). I love what I do now, but if I had to pick something else, I would choose restaurateur.
What online sites do you visit?
My favorite sites/apps would be BBC, CTV News, CBC, CNN, IMDB, Point2Homes…and I’ve just come to the realization that I’m a bit of a news junkie.
