Agatite & Hazel Apartments

Pros: I've lived her for a good while. Cleaning staff, especially Gloria, are wonderful. Some of the maintenance folks are great. Love living close to the lake and all that Uptown has to offer. Big fan of the outdoor space, the backyard is beautiful in the warmer months and it provides a structure to get to know the neighbors, some of which have been great to be in community with. Cons: Property managers can be slippery, especially Pablo. Used car salesperson vibes, honestly. Has tried multiple times to get neighbors to rat out other neighbors, says he'll do things he doesn't and treats maintenance staff poorly. He's also inappropriately had outbursts of anger/tantrums over insignificant matters that have seemed to stem way more from a bruised, fragile ego and power trip than anything relevant to the actual situations. Purposefully being vague so that SRI/Pable doesn't see this and can identify who I am because I genuinely fear they would find some way to retaliate. SRI raised the rent by $100/month this past year and jacks up the prices of vacant units with shoddy renovations. Property-wide toilet replacements they made a big fuss about being so accommodating about ended up having more issues than the ones they replaced. They treated the porches this summer which took forever to even get started during which we couldn't use the porch. The wait time for maintenance is often very long, even with urgent issues. Parking is $150/month too which is wild considering it's just alley parking which has some issues too. They've also tried to get residents to do maintenance things which are their responsibility as property managers. Overall takeaway: I don't plan to rent from them again and I'd suggest if you're considering one of their properties that you pass on it and find another landlord.
