Convent Glen may be small, but there are certainly no compromises made when it comes to the education of the children who live here. In both the suburb itself and in Orléans there are exceptionally high standards at all the schools.
Classing itself as the “small school with the big heart”, Convent Glen Elementary School is home to around 120 students from grades 2-8. This school offers its young students 3 programs: regular English, middle French immersion, which starts in grade 4, and a specialized autism program.
There are 4 well-respected high schools serving the area including 2 in Orléans. These are Cairine Wilson Secondary School and Sir Wilfred Laurier Secondary School. Both of these schools are outstanding in their own way and any community would be proud to have such excellent learning institutions at their doorstep.
Convent Glen and Orléans are serviced by the OC Transpo, which will take you anywhere you need to go. The major route is the 95 which will get you to the city centre in less than 15 minutes. The buses in this area are very regular, so you will never feel cut off from the rest of the world.
Convent Glen is the definition of a family-oriented neighbourhood. During the weekends you will see dads playing football with their kids in the park, or entire families riding their bikes and exploring the trails along the Ottawa River.
