Kawartha Lakes has plenty of opportunity to experience the arts as well. The Lindsay Gallery is a public art gallery in city. There are exhibits to view as well as art classes offered here. Neighbourhoods

North Kawartha Lakes

North Kawartha Lakes consists of the neighbourhoods of Fenelon Falls, Dalrymple, Head Lake and Rosedale. Fenelon Falls is often referred to as the “Jewel of the Kawarthas”. Fenelon Falls has a beautiful landscape and it is filled with trails and beaches. Dalrymple is a neighbourhood that is known for Lake Dalrymple. The neighbourhood has a campground and a beach. Head Lake has two lakes in the area: Rush Lake and Head Lake. There is a trailer park here as well. Rosedale is located between Balsam Lake and Cameron Lake. There are resorts and parks here, as well as a car dealership.

South Kawartha Lakes

South Kawartha Lakes consists of the neighbourhoods of Bobcaygeon, Omemee and Lindsay. Bobcaygeon is and interesting area in the city. The Downtown area of Bobcaygeon is on an island, which makes it very unique. There is shopping and restaurants in this area. There are many attractions here including lodges, resorts and the Lakeview Arts Barn. There is a farmers’ market and a museum here as well. Omemee is near Emily Provincial Park. It also has resorts and places to rent boats. In this area there are different amenities. The Trans Canada Highway also runs through the neighbourhood. Lindsay has many restaurants. There is also a drive-in theatre, a museum and a rock-climbing centre. It is also home the Ross Memorial Hospital and Fleming College. There are country clubs, trails and parks scattered throughout the neighbourhood and Jennings Creek flows through the North end of the neighbourhood. Lindsay has something for everyone.

Real Estate Market

Fenelon Falls has apartments, condominiums, single-family homes and vacant land. The homes here are affordable. The homes in the area are generally older as well.

Dalrymple has single-family homes and vacant land. Some homes are along the waterfront of Lake Dalrymple. Homes are affordable, but depending on the property the price can be more expensive. The houses in the area are older.

In Head Lake there are cottages, detached and single-family homes. The houses are somewhat affordable. Some properties are on the waterfront of Head Lake. Many of the properties have amazing views and plenty of space.

Bobcaygeon has multi-family, single-family and detached homes. Properties in this neighbourhood vary in price with some smaller homes being very affordable and the larger homes near the Bobcaygeon River being higher priced. There is a mix of newer and older homes in the neighbourhood as well.

In Lindsay there are single-family and detached homes as well as vacant land. The properties here for the most part have a higher price, but some properties on the outskirts are affordable. The homes vary in size and age.

There are two school boards in Kawartha Lakes: Trillium Lakelands District School Board and Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board. These boards not only serve Kawartha Lakes but also some of the surrounding areas as well. In total there are 25 elementary schools and four high schools. French Immersion is offered at both boards. Trillium Lakelands District school board also offers and outdoor education centre for students to experience the outdoors. Fleming College is the only post-secondary option in the city. It specializes in environment and natural resources. Areas near the city like Oshawa and Peterborough offer other post-secondary options.
