Qualicum Beach is situated on the eastern edge of Vancouver Island, along the Strait of Georgia.

The city of more than 8,000 people covers 17.98 square kilometres near the communities of Parksville, Qualicum Bay, Hilliers, and Errington.

The Island Highway W runs through the city, and the Inland Island Highway runs just outside of the community, both of which converge in nearby Parksville.

Qualicum Beach sits at the foot of Mount Arrowsmith, and has beautiful views of the mountains and the sea.

The Qualicum Beach Historical and Museum Society operates a museum with exhibits on various historical and cultural topics related to the area, including pioneer life, fossils and paleontology, royalty, First Nations history, oral history, electric power history, communication history, and agriculture. The museum also hosts various events and programs throughout the year.
