Signal Hill is unquestionably one of Calgary’s most posh and sought – after communities to live in. Located on the western edge of the city, this incredible neighbourhood offers breathtaking mountain views, a quick escape to enjoy the best that nature has to offer, and all the amenities you’d expect from an established city community. Despite being located on the edge of the metropolis, Signal Hill does not make you feel isolated. Two major roadways, Glenmore Trail and Sarcee Trail, run along the border of the community and fast public transit to the downtown core is just a short distance away. If you work hard, and play even harder, look no further than Signal Hill.
When you first see Signal Hill it commands your attention. Beautiful homes sit perched atop a hill overlooking the rest of the city. Huge numbers made from tens of thousands of white rocks adorn the side of the hill, visible to anyone driving down Glenmore or Sarcee trails. These numbers are 137, 113, 151, and 51, and they represent the four military reserve battalions based here at the start of WW1. That’s just the view from the outside.
Within the neighbourhood, you’ll find a quiet, upscale family community. Battalion Park, which sits on the side of hill where the aforementioned numbers are found, is a popular place for people to visit and remember our soldiers, past and present. At the bottom of the hill sit Westhills and Signal Hill shopping centres, offering clothing stores, a movie theatre, restaurants, grocery stores, and other retail outlets. Work, relaxation, shopping, and play are never far away when you live in Signal Hill.
