Halton Hills is home to over 61,000 people and is located in the southern portion of the province. The city spans more than 276 square kilometres near the communities of Brampton, Guelph, Milton, and Mississauga. There is a small-town feel to Halton Hills, and there are a number of communities located within its boundaries, including Georgetown, Acton, Limehouse, and Scotch Block. The area has a number of conservation areas and golf clubs, providing outdoor recreation options for residents.
Real Estate Market Overview

The Georgetown GO Station also provides access to GO Transit’s Kitchener train line, which runs from Kitchener to Toronto six times a day (each way). VIA Rail trains also stop at the Georgetown GO Station with their Corridor Service, which runs from Sarnia to Toronto. Residents with mobility issues can use the ActiVan accessible transit service to get around the city.
Schools
The Halton District School Board and Halton Catholic District School Board operate primary and secondary schools in the city, including Park Public School, Harrison Public School, St. Brigid, St. Joseph, Glen Williams Public School, Limehouse Public School, Holy Cross, Silver Creek Public School, Christ the King Catholic Secondary School, Acton District High School, and Georgetown District High School. One private school also operates in the city.
There are no post-secondary options in the city, so residents must travel to Guelph, Brampton, or Mississauga to access institutions like Sheridan College, the University of Toronto, Algoma University, the University of Guelph, and Conestoga College.
Family Life
Limehouse Conservation Area features 190 acres of natural park space with forested areas, meadows, and limestone crevices and fissures. The area is home to Black Creek, Bruce Trail (walking trail), and restored limestone kilns and mill ruins. Popular activities in the area are hiking, birdwatching, and photography.
The John Elliott Theatre is both a performing arts centre, and a movie theatre. Residents can see live theatre and concert performances, as well as seminars, workshops, and presentations. Movies presented at the theatre include popular films, independent films, and documentaries.
