Leanne is a long-time member of our Customer Care team. An avid sports fan, she’ll happily get into a discussion with you about whether the NHL lockout is going to end, which trades were good and which coach should be fired.

Leanne can always be counted on to bring in fresh baked scones with homemade jam for the rest of the team to enjoy, and will be sure to make you laugh with the funny websites and photos she stumbles across online.

We asked Leanne to answer a few questions about herself. Here’s what she had to say:

If you have an hour of free time to spare, what do you do with it?
You can find me in the kitchen trying out a new recipe. The process begins with hunting down recipes online, comparing a few versions of it, check the comments section to see how it worked out for other people and then trying it out myself. Croissant making was a success due to a YouTube video from Julia Child.

What kinds of food do you like?
Italian, Mexican and Greek are my top 3. Is olive oil a food? I probably could drink it straight.

If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or historical, who would it be?
Mario Lemieux. As an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan I would love to sit down and chat with one of the best hockey players of all time and listen to his story. I also hear he has an amazing wine cellar so he can pick from the wine list.

What is your favorite movie of all time?
I had the list down to 3 movies but I’m going with Beauty and the Beast for a few reasons. The ballroom scene was the first time my mind was blown during a movie, I was 4 but still. Cogsworth quote re: what Beast should get for Belle “Well, there’s the usual things: flowers… chocolates… promises you don’t intend to keep”.

What are some things on your bucket list?
Do some travelling, Italy and Greece are the top destinations. Drive a Zamboni, no explanation needed. I love boats and being out on the water so learning to sail is something I want to learn in my lifetime.

What online sites do you visit?
Twitter has changed the way I watch sports. It’s fun to interact with other people with the same interests and get up to the minute updates on trades and breaking news. is a fun site to check out, little bit of everything. for all your sporting needs, hockey-centric of course.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
To always be the perfect temperature. I might have a different answer for this question when it isn’t -21C (-6 F).

What do you like best about your job?
Definitely the people I work with. Working with encouraging, team oriented people that also happen to be hilarious is part of what makes my job awesome!

What is your favorite type of music?
I listen to a little bit of everything but I veer towards more of the indie-folk genre. Favourite band is Arctic Monkeys and guilty pleasure would be Spice Girls.
